| − | There may be some correlation to the Ashen hiding their villages and hiding their faces. What can we take from this? Are they shy? Afraid of outsiders? If hiding their villages protect their people from harm, what does hiding their faces protect them from? Imagine a regiment of Ashen warriors about to enter battle with one of their rival tribes. Do you think some of them are scared? Probably, so. But their warrior brethren cannot tell, for they only see the fearless masks they are wearing. The fearlessness they see in their brethren will increase their confidence that they will succeed in the upcoming battle. So in this manner by looking fearless, they will become fearless. And what of their enemies in combat? They will also see the frighteningly fearless faces in these masks. They will see the confidence of the Ashen and have second thoughts on their own chances of victory. |

The world from the perspective of an Ashen
The Ashen are one of the tribes of native inhabitants of the Tropicraft realm.
Description
No one has ever seen the face of an Ashen. It is a bit of a faux pas to have a naked face in their society. They are small, with masks of varying shapes. The Ashen, when encountered by the player, hold a blow dart which carry a paralyzing injection. However, if you don't hit them and just walk around them, they will not bother you. They are extremely agressive, but only attack whilst the player is paralyzed. An Ashen can be dealt with safely only by avoiding a blow from their paralyzing darts.
Community
The Ashen prefer living the coverage of the rainforest. The abundant trees and thick foliage of the rainforest does well to hide their villages from potential threats. Ashen spawn in small, nonsocial groups within Home Trees. If only one Ashen hits you with a dart, they will all proceed to assualt you.
